Eighteen year 7 and 8 students headed to Edmonscote for the Supersix athletics event. Each student competed in one track and one field event.
All students performed to the best of their ability with some outstanding performances across all teams. Madeleine Jacks finished 1st in her 800m race winning by a significant distance, Sienna Viteri came 2nd – holding off the other schools in the competition. Ruby Wood dominated in the 100m sprint and in the year 8 relay team Ruby, alongside Ruby Irving, Rosie Dillon and Tully Peacocke managed to claim 1st. Tully Peacocke came 2nd in her 200m and Elspeth Unitt came 2nd in her 800m. Jonathan Ingram came 1st in his long jump and George Lister came 1st in his 100m race. Tom Parkin-Neal completed his 100m in rapid time, beating the other schools and James Taylor came 3rd in Javelin with a throw over 22m. Overall, a very successful day for Southam, students performed to an extremely high level and all 4 teams exceeded expectations.
Looking forward to the Town Champs in July!
Well done to all! Miss MacLachlan and Mr MacGibbon
